A Bad day turns Worse

We are admitting Dad to Hospice House tonight. He is unsafe right now. We have adverted several potential falls. He is also very sick to his stomach. Stuart and Tracy....it is time to address the apartment issue. Dad will not be returning to Dallas to his apartment. Please contact Diane at Evergreen on Monday. We will be faxing a DR's letter on Monday to release Dad of his obligation .....we will still have to pay for May.
This could be a temporary situation at Hospice House. Time will tell. Bobbie is currently taking care of Dad's mail. It was being held at the Post Office. If you want to send it up here to 40 W Prospect Fayetteville, AR 72701 we would greatly appreciate it. At least this way we can take care of any bills that need to be addressed.

  3. Steven et al. - I'm so sorry to hear that Will is at this stage. My dad has been keeping us posted over the last few weeks. Will is fortunate to have family members who take such good care of him. You're in my thoughts.

  4. Steven and Melissa - we thank you so much for all you are doing for Will and for keeping us posted. We have just today (thanks to George) established an account so we can comment - so much for us being technology savy.
We are saddened by the latest blog that Will has been admitted to Hospice House - altho' I have experienced Hospice with my sister and know first hand of their wonderful services.
Please tell Will he is our thoughts and prayers and we love him. We feel so helpless. If there is anything we can do, please let us know. We can be there pronto.
    Love,
    Glenda & Pat

  5. Steven and Melissa, I am so saddened by your news although I'm not too surprised. He was going down daily before his move to Arkansas. I am so glad that he is in your care and not by himself any longer. I am guilty of calling him. I will not be doing that any more, but I plan to stay in touch with you. Please tell him about my calls and that I care very much for him. I will get his mail on Monday and send it on to you. I will also have all mail forwarded to your address starting Monday. Bobbie

  7. Rebecca, Pat, Glenda, Kay, George...
Thank you so much for the thoughts....I am making sure Dad gets all your wishes, thoughts and prayers. It means so much for him to hear that people care about him.

We will do our best to make sure he is told these positive thoughts daily. He is in complete control of all his mental faculties....his only struggle is communication because of his neck. It has to be very frustrating to know what you want to say and not being able to do it or repeating yourself over and over.

  8. Bobbie,

You have been Dad's saint. I cannot express my respect for you and what you have endured as a caregiver. The dysphagia(difficult swallowing) alone has been very difficult for me to deal with.....and you have watched it for 8 months. I know it has to be difficult to let loose of the reigns.......but you can rest assured that Dad is in a place that is devoted to his needs. When he returns home with us he will be surroun ded by people he loves and that love him.
If you want to call and leave voice mails we will play them for Dad at the HH. I hope your visit with your Mom is going well. We are thinking about you.
